Programme overview

This programme is essentially hands-on training. You will be taken out of the classroom and into the real-world environment of a local commercial bakery kitchen and shop in Hawke’s Bay. In the institute's bakery training environment you will work as an effective member of the team and learn to communicate clearly with customers and your colleagues. You will develop a solid background of general bakery knowledge.

Study is based on bakery techniques research, and its culinary specialities. Formal work experience in industry is also an important part of the programme, building professional relationships and connections to employers.
