Programme overview

If you’re good at maths and have an interest in the man-made world around you, then civil engineering may be just the thing for you. You’ll learn about land surveying, highway and traffic engineering, water and wastewater systems, and much more. You will get skills and knowledge to design and supervise the construction of infrastructures such as roads, buildings, tunnels, airports, dams, bridges, and water supply and sewage systems.

Pathways for high-achieving students may include acceptance with up to two years' recognition into the University of Auckland Bachelor of Civil and Environmental Engineering degree. This diploma will provide you with the knowledge and skills required of an engineering technician. You’ll learn to apply theoretical and technical knowledge to practical situations and demonstrate the necessary strategies to work safely and effectively with contractors, communities, clients and authorities.
