The University of Auckland is the highest-ranked university in New Zealand. It is also the largest and the most comprehensive one. Today’s student population of the university is around 42,000 including 8,000 international students representing over 100 countries. The University was first opened in 1883 as a part of the University of New Zealand.

The University is located in the biggest economic hub of New Zealand – Auckland. The city has easy access to fabulous beaches and rainforests. A new campus was opened on Newmarket in May 2015, featuring extensively upgraded buildings and a new hall for the Faculty of Engineering, with additional space for some Faculty of Science activities.
Being the largest university in New Zealand, the University of Auckland offers a remarkable range of study options. There are more than 130 different postgraduate and 150 undergraduate programmes across eight faculties and two research institutes.
New international Ph.D. students usually pay the same annual tuition fees as New Zealand students thanks to the New Zealand Government scheme.
The University of Auckland provides extensive support services for all students including academic support, scholarships, accommodation options, sport and recreation facilities, counseling and over two hundred societies and clubs to join.
